Hello "Mighty" LRMS Families...
As part of Governor Hochul’s new “Distraction-Free Schools” initiative, all K–12 schools across New York State are now required to implement a “bell-to-bell” policy limiting student cell phone use during the school day. This means students will not be permitted to use their phones, watches or any non-school issued device from the start of the school day until dismissal.
At the “Mighty” LRMS, we’re committed to creating a focused, safe and engaging learning environment for all our students. To support this effort, any personal electronic devices brought to school must be stored in lockers for the entire day. We do understand how important it is to stay connected. For that reason, we’ll be posting a list of key contact numbers on our website and on the school’s digital monitor outside the building. We'll also email this list of important numbers to your child for your reference. As always, our main office is just a phone call away if you need to reach us or your child during the school day. Thank you for your support as we work together to create the best possible learning environment for our students.

In this video designed for our school board, central administrators, and families, you will see and hear powerful testimonials from students sharing their positive feelings about our library, our collection of books and other resources, our library-centered projects, our unplugged policy, and our librarian. The over-riding theme is that our students feel welcomed, supported, represented, and loved when they enter our library.
*As the librarian, I couldn't be more proud or love these kids more.

Hello Lawrence Road Families.
Thank you for your continued support and flexibility today. I’m happy to share that everything went well. While repairs to our main office were underway, students engaged in meaningful Social Emotional Learning (SEL) activities throughout the day.
We anticipate a normal school day on Monday.
Eighth graders will begin their Checkpoint Exam at 8:00 a.m. with a dismissal by 12, while the sixth and seventh graders will have a half day, starting at 12:00 p.m. They have a schedule of bus arrivals. The schedule is also located on the school webpage. Thank you, and have a wonderful weekend. U-STRONG!

Hello Lawrence Road Families,
I want to update you on my last message. Our main office ceiling tiles fell over the weekend. We are in the process of repairing it. We have contained the area for cleaning. The students will have a regular scheduled school day. We have modified their activities because of the disruption. Thank you for your patience.

Good morning Lawrence Road Families.
I hope this message finds you well. I want to inform you of a minor facilities issue that occurred over the weekend. The ceiling tiles and lights in our main office unexpectedly fell. No one was in the building at the time, and there were no injuries.
Out of an abundance of caution, we have temporarily relocated main office operations to nearby spaces within the building, including the guidance office and the principal’s office. Our custodial team is actively working on cleanup and repairs, and additional support has been requested to ensure the issue is resolved quickly and safely.
We appreciate your understanding and will keep you updated as needed. School operations are continuing as normal. Thank you.
