Hello Lawrence Road Families, The "Mighty" LR is starting their reading initiative by dropping everything and reading (DEAR). We are asking students to read a book of their choice for 20 min. a day for the rest of the school year. I will be joining in on the initiative by reading Ghost by Jason Reynolds. I am challenging the 6th graders to read along with me. Ghost is a book about a kid by the name of Castle Cranshaw, who is a seventh grader, that struggles with the effects of a traumatic childhood. Castle's life changes when he joins the Defenders track team and learns that he can run away from his past. I also urge our parents to not only encourage our scholars to read, but read along with us; …because LR is U! U-STRONG!
