A 25th Anniversary Message to the LRMS Community
As we mark a quarter-century since September 11, 2001, our school community pauses to reflect on a milestone that continues to deeply shape our nation, our town, and the generations of students who have walked our halls. Twenty-five years later, the values of courage, empathy, and unity remain foundational to who we are.
We hold in our hearts the victims, their families, and the courageous first responders, including many from our own and neighboring communities, who answered the call without hesitation. We will be wearing red, white and blue to show solidarity and remembrance. As educators, families, and staff, we share the meaningful duty of passing these lessons on to the next generation. May we continue to honor the memory of 9/11 through daily acts of service, compassion, and community spirit. U-STRONG!
We are pleased to invite you to our Back-to-School Night tomorrow evening, September 9, beginning promptly at 7:00 PM. This evening is an opportunity for you to meet your child's teachers, learn more about the instructional program, and gain a better understanding of the expectations, routines, and experiences that will shape your child's school year.
Please plan to arrive 30 minutes early to allow time for parking, getting settled and brief discussions before the program begins. The evening will follow your child's daily class schedule, so we encourage you to have a copy of your child's schedule readily available. You may take a screenshot of the schedule on your phone or access a copy through PowerSchool.
During each class period, teachers will provide a brief overview of their courses, classroom expectations, instructional practices, and ways you can support your child at home. While this evening is designed as an introduction to the school year rather than individual conferences, we welcome the opportunity to connect with you and begin building a strong home-school partnership.

In accordance with the New York State education law, all school emergency drills (fire drills, lockdown drills, etc.) require that parents/guardians be notified. We will be conducting an emergency response drill (fire drill) this week at Lawrence Road Middle School. Once again, this is only a drill. Thank you.

As we prepare to welcome our students back tomorrow, we are excited to begin the 2026–2027 school year! School begins promptly at 8:00 a.m., and we look forward to seeing our students return and starting the year together.
As a friendly reminder, e-bikes or e-scooters of any kind are not permitted on school grounds. If your child rides a bicycle to school, please provide them with a chain and lock.
Students are also reminded to wear their school IDs if they have already been issued one.
Thank you for your cooperation and partnership in helping us maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming school environment.

Just a reminder to have your child print their schedule for the first day of school tomorrow, September 1st. Please keep in mind that schedules may have changed, so be sure to check your child’s schedule again before tomorrow morning. If you don’t a have a printer, please have your child copy their schedule in their notebook or they can stop by the Main Office. Cell phones and non-school issued electronics are prohibited during school hours and should be secured in student lockers. Thank you.

Backpacks with supplies will be given away for free from 9 am to 12 pm at Turtle Hook and at Lawrence Road middle schools. You can choose the most convenient location for you to attend. There will be supplies for both elementary and secondary students as well as an opportunity for voter registration! We look forward to seeing you this Saturday morning!
