Hello "Mighty" LRMS Families...
As part of Governor Hochul’s new “Distraction-Free Schools” initiative, all K–12 schools across New York State are now required to implement a “bell-to-bell” policy limiting student cell phone use during the school day. This means students will not be permitted to use their phones, watches or any non-school issued device from the start of the school day until dismissal.
At the “Mighty” LRMS, we’re committed to creating a focused, safe and engaging learning environment for all our students. To support this effort, any personal electronic devices brought to school must be stored in lockers for the entire day. We do understand how important it is to stay connected. For that reason, we’ll be posting a list of key contact numbers on our website and on the school’s digital monitor outside the building. We'll also email this list of important numbers to your child for your reference. As always, our main office is just a phone call away if you need to reach us or your child during the school day. Thank you for your support as we work together to create the best possible learning environment for our students.

I want to tell you about an awesome, spooky and heartwarming book called Ghost Squad by Claribel A. Ortega. It’s about Lucely Luna, a Dominican American girl living in Florida with her dad and a house full of friendly ghost relatives. But one night, Lucely and her best friend Sid accidentally unleash some seriously scary spirits; and now their town is in trouble! With the help of Sid’s witchy grandma and a chunky cat named Chunk, the girls have to team up to save everyone before time runs out.
This story looks like it has everything; action, humor, friendship, culture and heart. It’s exciting, a little spooky and packed with good vibes about family, courage and sticking together. Let's discover together. I’d love for you all to read along with me as Road Scholars! Let’s dive into this adventure together, share our thoughts and see what we can learn from Lucely’s courage and creativity as you read with the Principal!

From September 15 to October 15, we recognize and celebrate the incredible contributions of Hispanic and Latinx people in our country. It’s a time to honor those who have inspired others to dream big, study hard, work proudly, serve their communities, and reach for success!
Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates the rich histories, cultures, and traditions of Americans whose ancestors came from Mexico, Spain, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
Let’s learn, celebrate and uplift the voices that have shaped our community and our world!
Happy Hispanic Heritage Month LR!

In accordance with the New York State education law change, all school emergency drills (fire drills, lockdown drills, etc.) require that parents/guardians be notified. We will be conducting an emergency response drill (fire drill), the week of 9/15, at Lawrence Road Middle School. Once again, this is only a drill. Thank you.

Patriot Day will be observed on Thursday, September 11th. We invite our LRMS family to wear red, white, and blue in remembrance of those who lost their lives on this tragic day and in appreciation of the courageous individuals who continue to serve and safeguard our nation.
